Collabonation vol.1 Deeper than the underground Mixtape Review

Collabonation vol.1 Deeper than the underground Mixtape

Although I love the whole album let me discuss those tracks that I want the most.

Mensahe – 1218
-         sakto ang first track to open up this mixtape sa tingin ko wala na mas bagay na 1st track kundi un

Pangako Ko - Chillzey feat. Jei high
-         this track is catchy and easily became one of my favorite, although it’s love song and the word play is not that hard I love the overall impact of this song, this track is something that can be appreciated kahit ng hindi hiphop fan. Kudos to that.

My Baby - Mister Consequence feat. Yung Mizz
-         another song that I enjoy narinig ko na way back then yung kanta “baby” same beat but I love the rendition and I love the voice of Yung Mizz.

You Make Me Happy – Thapatnaz
-         definitely a favorite of mine, when you listen to this song you can easily love it, it’s nice hindi baduy and Mr.Thapatnaz is really using his voice, not just rapping although its  a rap, he is singing and if you’re a keen observer mararamdaman mo rin na walang halong pagyayabang sa song nato meaning hindi niyayabang ni sir Thapatnaz ang kanyang galing sa kantang ito this song stands out to it’s self. it’s a  dope lovesong that you can dedicate to your one J

Simple Lang (Remix) - Wzu and Cryme of Likalento HK feat Rastym16 and Saint Michael of Skwaterhawz
-         medyo sawa na tlaga ako sa mga kantang tungkol sa pagmamalaki(ako ay malupet, magaling matikas blah blah) pero the are just some track with a different attack to it and this is a good example of it gusto ko ang collabo nato specially nung pasok ni Sir Rasty m16 at sir Saint Micheal!!!

Saloobin - Lil Death
-         this girl is hard hitting and I effortless became a fan that I want to search who this girl is. This song is about ones dream, pero halos ng rapper have the same passion and fire in them like this one ang galing at ang bilis ng delivery ni Lil Death sa song nato and it’s not so hard understand meaning kahit mabilis ang delivery nya at clear to. Kudos to that.

Tumabi - Apple Bone feat. Yaniiboii
-         this is not the first time I heard this song but this song have the best repeated chorus J astig Tumabi naman tumabi-tabi naman haha cool!

Dear G (I'm Sorry) - Prophe'Cee
-         not so catchy enough but when you listen carefully ito ang magandaganda ang mensahe it should be as it address God, it’s almost a prayer to me but I like it. Mahirap din gumawa ng kanta na may sense.

It's Our Town - Yaniiboii feat. Grace Lopez
-         being proud of your hood, I really enjoy those kind of tracks sa hiphop ata talaga pinaka bagay ang mga kantang may ganyan tema, the voice of Grace Lopez here is so nice hmmm sarap sa tenga.

Ang Lungsod – Syke
-         I was surprise to hear sir Syke here, he is not your typical underground artist he’s one of the Pioneer, may sarili na syang delivery, style at respetado na ng maraming artist, akala ko nagkamali ako ng pinakikingan mixtape as I heard this song sa isang mixtape narin. O well this song is good Syke yan eh.

Visions - Prophe'Cee
-         “no unity because one of us don’t wanna care” another real song nice message.

Awit sa aking Kababayan (Wasakan Remix) - TigaSouth Artists
-         ang mga kantang about sa Love, Kapayapaan, Pag mamalaki sa sarili at tungkol sa bayan ay nakakasawa na talaga sa sobrang dami ng gumamit ng mga temang ito pero may mga mangilan ngilan paring na maganda sa pandinig katulad ng kantang ito, it’s most likely the delivery and listening to the music carefully, Apple Bone, Abi of Read our Lines, Prophe'Cee and Aklas knows how to deal with the topic and beat very well.

thanks to Marck Iann Abarintos  for allowing me to have this mixtape and
it will be out for FREE this JULY 29 isa narin itong handog ng PHS for my database anniversary. J

People's Future

Genre : Hip-Hop
Members : Verb, Gap, JedLi
Hometown : TL Massive/ Vito Crew
Record Label : Dope Love Records (subsidiary label of Locked Down Entertainment)

About

Visit Fully Booked, Odyssey, Our Father's Coffee or Capital G Shop to get a copy of our album. ONE

Biography
Peoples Future

What does anyone really know about hiphop music in the Philippines? Some might even strive to prove that no such thing exists. Nevertheless, you put together an equation like beat genius/hiphop quotable MC Jed Kenneth Caba aka JedLi, lyrical patriot Brian Aldin Pascual aka Verb, soft-spoken, but thought-provoking mc Christian Michael Saldaña aka GAP and what do you get? A hiphop motley crue indeed. But more so, hiphop in refreshing forms that are also somehow reminiscent of its days of inception.
About two years deep, they have just released their debut album Headlines Issue#1 (many more issues to come), which features artists such as: Marquiss, God’s Will, ILL-J, Verse1 & Monique on the beat stylings of JedLi. Their songs are chapters from their respective lives and experiences. As Verb would disclose “It’s all about keeping it right and keeping it real.” Their first single, “On the Grind” expresses the struggle and hustle of working to get by on a daily basis (safe to say a topic that anyone can relate to) while creating pure recall with their chant-like chorus. Conversely, their follow-up single featuring Monique of 7 Shots of Wisdom titled "This Girl, That Lady" is a light jazz fusion that allows them to express love for the ladies in their lives - not just love interests, but even a mother!

Undoubtedly, this album will very well shake the industry with multi-talent and it will give people an idea of what this group can bring to the table. It will serve as a lesson for all the typecast views towards hiphop. Audiences will not only learn about hiphop, but they will learn how hiphop has absolutely no limitations.

*PF has done major annual shows such as: DMC Finals, The Philippine Annual Hip hop Awards, Rock da Riles, Fete de la Musique, etc. as well as regular gigs at Saguijo, B-Side, Mag:Net, et al.
*They released an EP titled Kinabukasan last May, 2009
*They launched their debut album Headlines Issue#1 late 2009
*They have been featured in print (Pulp, Fudge, etc.), on radio (Wave 89.1, RX93.1,& Max103.5) and on TV (Abs-Cbn Music Uplate Live, et al.)
*Their video single "On the Grind" will soon air on all music channels

JedLi: “Peoples Future will be making albums for years to come & hopefully we’ll be content with the outcome that it’ll keep our drive alive. Also we dream that music of the Locked Down family will break so many barriers & stereotypes that we could reach international listeners as well.

GAP: “Our ultimate goal is to show the real beauty of music and poetry through hip-hop to everybody, especially those whose minds are clogged by that stereotypical image of hip-hop… and it wouldn’t hurt to get rich in the process! Ahaaa!”

Verb: “We hope to help bring back that Original Pinoy Hip Hop Music.”

Dustin Perfetto, known by his stage name Nump, is a Filipino American hip hop artist best known for his single, "I Gott Grapes" featuring E-40 and The Federation produced by D1 of the Knockaholicks. In 2006, the album was re-released by E-40's label, 3030/Sick Wid It Records under a distribution agreement with Navarre Distribution. "I Gott Grapes" received significant air play in the bay area and is mostly associated with the bay area's hyphy genre. The single was followed by a remix called "I Gott Grapes (Worldwide Treemix)." He has worked with artists such as DJ Shadow, E-40, The Federation, MIA, apl.de.ap of The Black Eyed Peas, DJ Qbert, and many more. Nump was also featured on MTV's My Block: The Bay. Krook & Jolo

Krook & Jolo

they were also originally a 3 man crew known as Trilogy composed of Kristyles, JOLO & Krook.. and just like Brand Nubian... Right after the group's debut album.. one member left... and in this case Kristyles is the one who left the group.. Krook & JOLO continued their career and released an album without a group name and it is just simply titled "Focused"...

Here's their songs, sampled from the 80's band Simply Red. The Krook & JOLO version featured R&b singer Arnee on the hook.

Krook and JOLO are former members of TRILOGY. Krook is Mark Angle and JOLO is Jolo Raagas.

Jonan Aguilar

JONAN AGUILAR one of the most talented MC's, whose roots are of music royalty in the Philippines. Amongst all his siblings, I think Jonan delving into hiphop is a success outside the shadows of his dad's achievements. JA - real name no gimmicks, has been marinating in the scene for the longest of time now. You would see him mingling in clubs, rock shows, cyphering outside and just being one with the movement. Nothing had slowed him down, when you see less of him -- he's in the studio. Jonan Aguilar is probably one of few persons in hiphop who gets to tour the US, performing with his family. News is he is leaving on the 23rd to go somewhere in Europe which I bet dude will take a quick stop at Amsterdam!

Jonan as been rocking mics for a minute now, is a member of the hiphop super group Los Indios Bravoz -- who have released Kalye Musika to critical acclaim.Over the recent year that has passed, he has slowly been preparing his debut album. Throughout his performances around the metro -- we have been given glimpses of what the album is shaping up to be. I remember the first time I caught him perform a new piece from his album was in Saguijo and by god, I was blown away -- him and the Anak Band has a synergy that cannot be rivaled because of family ties. Songs like Pilipino Ka, Biktima performed with the band is just crazy. He even brought out a soprano like singing woman who gave the show added texture and showed how sure Jonan is of how he wants his music presented.

Crazy As Pinoy

When Hiphop-blossomed in the Philippines in the early 1990’s, Lorivino Deyb Ignacio (aka. Bassilyo)
Jeffrey C. Pillen (aka Crispin) and Muriel Anne F. Jamito (aka Sisa) this threesaome is the latest great
sounding rap group collectively Known as Crazy as Pinoy.

At a young age, they fell in love with rap music. while living in Marikina City, they would spend hours
battle-rapping for fun. What started out as a hobby that they used to pass the time, quickly evolved into
an irreplaceable outlet of self expression and stress-relief.

They have cited influences from the late Francis Magalona, with some of their work sounding a bit like
Gloc-9, Chito Miranda of Parokya Ni Edgar, Andrew E, Denmark, Mastaplann and numerous rap artist
as inspiration to name a few.

Their Music moved to another level when they realized it’s potential to reach the masses and its capacity
to change and touch liver after winning Jet Set Grand Champion of Year 2022, that time then they were
known as “Traingulo” and winning Eat Bulaga’s Rap Public of the Philippines Grand Champion in the
year 2002 under the group name as Crazy as Pinoy.

The continuous popularity of rap music convinced Eat Bulaga to introduce a contest in 2002 called Rap-
public of the Philippines which aims to discover new talents. The first volume of Rap-public of the Philippines
album under BMG Records Pilipinas was then conceptualized and eventually the production of hit songs
like “PANAGINIP” and “PALASYO”

H-Bom / Sketch

H-Bom

Philippine pop-rapper H-Bom first appeared in 1997 with the album Buhay. Despite his ominous moniker, H-Bom was rather tame. Rapping predominantly in English, his music recalled such American pop-rap crossovers as Will Smith, Young MC, or Shaggy without the reggae influence. H-Bom's sophomore release, Pwede Ba?, appeared in 1998; D' Real Side followed in 1999. The album continued in the same vein established by H-Bom's earlier material, with the rapper spinning non-threatening rhymes and occasionally singing. Like many Philippine pop stars, H-Bom avoided any hard edges on his material in order to cater to the largest audience possible. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi
